ââ¬Å"Santa Claus is Coming to Townâ⬠, is a christmas carol for kids to encourage them to have a good behavior because Santa would know whos been bad or good. It gets the attention of kids with the first line, ââ¬Å"You better watch outâ⬠and then comfortes kids with the line, ââ¬Å"Santa Claus is Coming to Townâ⬠. In 1932, the song was created by John Frederick, Coots, and Haven Gillespie. The song originated from the United States. Specifically, it created on a subway in New York as they were going to a music publisherââ¬â¢s office. Christmas was a holiday to look forward to in the 1930s, however the writers, Coots and Gillespie, had no idea how successful the song would eventually be. 2 years of frustration bombarded the writers as record labels were afraidâ⬠¦show more contentâ⬠¦Some artist that sung their own version to the song include The Jackson 5, Alice Cooper, Bruce Springsteen, Justin Bieber, and Laura Pausini. Justin Bieberââ¬â¢s version bec ame a hit for his fanbase consisting of 5 to 15 year olds, which made the younger generation appreciate the song and solidified the popularity of the song. The most played version on the radio and the most downloaded is Bruce Springsteenââ¬â¢s version. The song has been mixed with other festive holiday songs, which include ââ¬Å"Santa Claus is Coming to Town/ Jingle Bells (2014) and Frosty the Snowman/ Santa Claus is Coming to Town (2017). The song became so popular that there was an animated version on television created in 1970. Rankin Bass animated the Santa Clausââ¬â¢ Story based on the song ââ¬Å"Santa Claus is Coming to Townâ⬠to expand the story of the song. It is also used by other motion pictures to increase its popularity, for example, it was in the movie Elf by New Line Cinema. In the movie the song was sung by a crowd of people in order to save Christmas by making everyone believe. This made the song ââ¬Å"Santa Claus is Coming to Townâ⬠continue to be popular as it was used as the reason why Christmas is the way that it is. The song would be in the public domain as 80 years has passed since the song was created, however Cootââ¬â¢s daughter, Gloria Coots Baldwin, and his granddaughters are responsible for the decisions of the songââ¬â¢s use.
